Practical and Helpful Tips: Hydroponics

The Parts That Make The Different Hydroponic Systems

Agriculture is one of the main activities that is practised by many people either directly in the farms or indirectly through the processing and manufacturing of different agricultural products in factories. Agriculture as an independent sector is taken as a base of many economies with the agricultural products being grown used for either exports or consumption. Most economies that are well-off have the best agricultural bases that meet most needs of different people. Some economies may specialize in various forms of agriculture depending on the resources that are available within those economies. Since different plants grow in different climatic conditions and soils, it is very important to reconsider the type of agricultural practice that you want to carry out. One of the most trending agricultural practices that has been adapted by most countries with the help of technology is hydroponics.

Hydroponics is considered to be a subset of hydroculture that basically involves the process of growing plants using various mineral nutrient solutions found in water solvents without employing the use of soil. Various terrestrial plants may be grown with the their roots being exposed to the solution. The nutrients that are used in this type of agricultural practice are from duck manure, fish waste or normal nutrients. The basic parts which we will require so as to build hydroponic systems are the growing chambers, submersible pump, reservoirs, simple timers, delivery systems, air pumps and grow lights. There are six main types of Hydroponic systems that are commonly used include; water culture, wick system, Aeroponics, drip system, ebb-flow and the Nutrient Film Technique.

Aeroponics are types of hydroponic systems where roots of different plants are stored in environments which are highly saturated with nutrients solutions in form of drops. In most cases, this method does not involve the use of a substrate and just involves growing various plants with their roots highly suspended in growth chambers and in deep air. The reason why this method is common is that there is good aeration.

Ebb-flow systems are types of hydroponic systems that are very common in home hydroponic. Ebb-flow systems are easy to construct and they can be built with any material which might be found lying around. The drip system is the most common type of hydroponic system used by many farmers around the world. It is not a hard concept that requires only few parts yet proved to be versatile and effective. In this system, you will be required to drip different nutrient solutions on plant roots with an aim of keeping them moist.

Hydroponics can be rated as one of the best agricultural practices used by many farmers in the world. It is one of the most widely spread type of agriculture that basically uses different mineral nutrient solutions that emanate from water solutions.
